Dallas Service Forum
Service from the Heart
Women's philanthropic organization serving the community through volunteering.
Dallas Service Forum honorary member Ira Nevelow recently celebrated his birthday by asking friends and family to donate stuffed teddy bears to Dallas Children's Advocacy Center in lieu of gifts.
Ira and his wife, DSF member Shari Nevelow, delivered the trunk full of teddies to DCAC's Sarah Brigger, DCAC Volunteer Coordinator and In-Kind Donations Manager.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SEPTEMBER 10, 2026
DALLAS SERVICE FORUM TO BE HONORED WITH “THE VOLUNTEER IMPACT AWARD” FOR 2026 BY HOPE’S DOOR NEW BEGINNING CENTER
Dallas Service Forum is being honored with the 2026 Volunteer impact Award by Hope’s Door New Beginning Center. The honor recognizes Dallas Service Forum’s outstanding contribution and unwavering support of Hope’s Door New Beginning Center’s mission to offer intervention and prevention services to individuals and families affected by family violence.
The award celebrates the longtime partnership between DSF and Hope’s Door, working together to help domestic abuse survivors re-build a life free of violence. “We simply cannot do this work alone,” said Tarrah Lantz, Hope’s Door Chief Development Officer. “Dallas Service Forum spends countless hours helping provide dignity to our clients, from preparing meals and providing funding, to delivering the everyday essentials that mean so much to someone in need.”
“Receiving this award from this organization that we respect so deeply is an incredible honor,” said Kathy Havel, DSF President. “This award belongs to our dedicated members who are committed to creating a strong network of support for Hope’s Door and those they serve.”
The award will be presented at HDNBC’s 2026 Purple Tie Gala “Rooted in Hope, Growing New Beginnings – 10 Years of Unity” to be held October 24 at Vouv Dallas. The event will include dinner, a live auction, raffles, dancing and live entertainment, while highlighting community heroes, successes, and the organization’s history of serving thousands of individuals and families throughout Dallas and Collin counties. Funds raised from the event will directly support HDNBC programs and help expand the organization’s reach across Dallas and Collin counties in 2027.

Always loved this service project. Have several heartwarming stories about it.
👏👏👏Great job DSF!
😊❤️We are so grateful for our friends at Dallas Service Forum! This year, twenty-five DSF members shared their time and talents at the Crimes Against Children Conference, volunteering an incredible 295 hours. Thank you for being such dedicated partners and for helping make this event a success. We appreciate your ongoing support for DCAC and the children and families we serve!
